Question
Answer
I am planted at my desk most of the time. If someone needs me, can they leave a message in voice mail.
Your 8 year old son is enjoying his day at school on the playground when he falls and suddenly there is an emergency. You're in your office but in a meeting. Via your pager you are immediately notified of the urgent situation. This allows you not only to prioritize activities but also handle the constant flow of communication. This is accomplished with a single call to a single number.
I use my answering machine at home if I am not there, I check my messages. If you are not at home you might not want to miss important calls. Answer only those calls which you want to take on your cell phone or be notified of important callers by your pager.
I do not use voice mail. I hate it. Have your messages taken by a live operator and sent to your text pager. Your callers get you or a live operator 7 days a week, 24 hours a day.
I have existing voice mail at work that I want to continue to use. Great, use the existing voice mail with all the advantages of a single number service. mynumber will integrate with your existing voice mail system.
I do not want to be found. You do not have to be found. This is a great feature. You want the day off and do not want to be bothered. You know you are going to check voice mail (at least one time). When you do, you can easily and efficiently return calls and organize messages in one simple voice mail box.
Note: Of course, if you do have one important caller, perhaps your boss, they can always reach you by overriding your unavailable status.
If I am out of the office, I carry my mobile phone. I am always accessible if someone needs me. This is exactly who should be using mynumber. I love it when I call someone and their voice mail tells me, "If you need to reach me call my cell phone, the number is 630-218-7686." Why do they think I called them? I need to speak with them. Otherwise I would not have bothered calling. So now what I usually do is dial them back again to see if I can catch the cell number as they rattle it off at 100 miles per hour. Ok, now I got the cell number. I dial it. The phone is off so I get the cellular recording that tells me the caller has traveled beyond the service area or sometimes it is the cell voice mail that tells me, "I would rather get my voice mail at the office and please hang up and ring me at the office." Great, now I have to call the office back (that is the 3rd call to the office if you are counting). If you have a cell phone, why not enhance the way you use it. mynumber allows you to prioritize your incoming calls, in relation to what you are doing at the time. It also makes it easier to connect when someone needs to ring the mobile phone.
Note: An out of range cellular subscriber will still get pages as paging frequencies are stronger than wireless phone signals. mynumber will alert your pager that you have a live call holding and the pager will give you the caller's number. This allows you to connect with callers even though the moment they called you did not have a strong enough cellular signal.
I do not have a pager. I provide paging service directly to you. There are 4 flavors of paging service. Local Numeric, National Numeric, Local Alpha Numeric, and National Alpha Numeric. Pagers can be setup for local or national coverage. Pagers can also be text (Alpha) which displays letters and numbers or Numeric which displays only numbers. As you might imagine, National coverage with Alpha Numeric is more expensive than Local Numeric service. Additionally, if you do not carry a pager, you can still receive pages. Now when you dial into retrieve your voice mail, you can listen to your numeric pages.
I only have a small or home office. That is perfect. You get the advanced telecommunications services that highly paid executives with personal assistants enjoy at a big company.
